About
I’m Cooper Broll, a 20-year-old professional racing driver, born and raised in the mountains of California. Currently, I am racing in the American McLaren Trophy Cup, as well as pursuing a business degree at the University of Nevada, Reno.
I grew up in a family of downhill skiers (my parents met on a mountain while skiing) and started skiing at 18 months old. Later, I joined the race team at my local mountain and would race for 6 years. This passion, alongside my passion for lacrosse, was abruptly halted when I contracted Lyme disease, which shut down my life for multiple years. Through many doctors and a lot of different medicines, I was finally able to overcome Lyme, and today it barely affects me. However, it left many lasting marks on me, and I was never able to get back into my sports. Then, in 2020, for my 16th birthday, my dad decided to take me to Radford Racing School for a fun day of driving. Little did he know that this would begin the next stage of my life.
After this school, I found myself wanting to do more. I began with Autocross before moving on to Track Days. I did every one I could find, getting faster and faster. Then, through a series of events, my dad and I ended up at a 3-Day GT Skip Barber Racing School at Laguna Seca. I excelled and dusted him quickly. A few months later, we did the 2-Day GT Advanced, and at the end of it, the coaches said I may be ready to go into professional racing soon. After this, I did a handful of club-level races before jumping straight into the deep end of professional racing on the Skip Barber Race Team.
In 2023, with the help of sponsor PiedParker, I debuted my professional career in SRO’s TC America in TCA class, driving a Skip Barber Honda Civic SI. After a long season of learning, I ended 6th in the championship. I felt ready to move up into a faster class.
In 2024, I moved up to the TCX class in SRO’s TC America, driving the new Acura Integra Type S race car, again with Skip Barber Race Team. It was a huge step up. I went from manual to sequential, and nearly doubled the horsepower. This was a huge change, and there were certainly some growing pains, but I learned quickly and began to be competitive for podiums. After a hard-fought battle, I ended third in the championship. Again, I had learned a lot and felt ready for faster.
In 2025, I took the largest leap yet, diving into the new McLaren Trophy Cup America alongside Spanish driver Tommy Pintos. Together, we are driving the #919 McLaren Artura Trophy EVO2. This was and is another beast. Again, nearly doubling horsepower, and completely changing drive types from front wheel drive to rear wheel drive. So far, it has been a challenge, but with the support of my wonderful team at Skip Barber, my incredible co-driver, my amazing sponsors, and my family, we have been able to do quite well. I’m exited to see where the rest of this year takes me!
